Second Student Convention on Innovative Approaches for Academic Excellence in Higher Fisheries Education

    Introduction

    Recognizing, the importance of excellence in higher education, ICAR-CIFE, Indian Fisheries Association (IFA) and Post Graduate School Students Union (PGSSU), CIFE, Mumbai in partnership with Education Division ICAR, is organizing ‘Second Student Convention on Innovative Approaches for Academic Excellence in Higher Fisheries Education’ at CIFE, Mumbai from 3-5 March, 2017.

    This 3 day convention aims to have informed and productive discussion about the concept of excellence and how innovative approaches can be applied in the context of higher education in fisheries. Approximately 500 students across the fisheries universities and colleges are expected to participate in this event. We extend an invitation to all students to participate in this convention.

    Objectives

    Providing a platform to students to present innovative approaches to achieve academic and research excellence so as to improve the learning outcomes.

    Instructions for participants:

    Students are encouraged to think out of the box and submit innovative approaches in form of a poster. Diverse opinions are intended to stimulate debate to explore and attain much valuable insights. Students should send soft copy of poster in pdf format on email studentconvention2017@cife.edu.in by 30th January 2017. Poster size should be 3ft X 3 ft. Acceptance of the poster will be sent by 6th February 2017. Students should bring actual poster with them which will be displayed in poster session. Ten awards will be given to best posters.

    Students from all fisheries colleges are invited to join us to take part in debates, panel and roundtable discussions to drive strategic excellence and trigger innovative pedagogic techniques. During the convention, experts and esteemed guest speakers will explore innovative approaches that will define the next frontier in higher education in fisheries.

    Students will be reimbursed sleeper class train ticket as per rules. Accommodation will be provided in the hostel dormitories along with 3 meals on the days of convention.
