ICAR-CIFE has been the forerunner in moving towards cashless economy. It has long been making all the staff and student payments through online direct bank transfer. It includes salary to our regular staff members, other regular payments such as TA / LTC/ medical and GPF etc., salary of project fellows, young professionals, students fellowships, contingencies / advances under the projects, and also payments to other contract services staff. With the recent guidelines of the ICAR / Government of India, CIFE has made all the receivables also cashless, thus paving way to realise the goal of making all official transactions in the University cashless. In pursuance of the this, CIFE has installed swipe machines at various key points and made it operational on 7th of January 2017: The swipe machines have been installed at the International Guest House to collect the rentals from Guests visiting CIFE, Mumbai. The machines are operational and the officials are now transacting through these machines and now on, no financial transaction will be made in cash.

Payments of advances
All advances to officers and staff members are paid online to their bank accounts. Earlier, some of these advances used to be paid by cash. Now that is also channelized. All advances, whether TA, LTC, medical or contingent, are now disbursed only through the digital mode. Officers are also making payments through digital modes / swipe machines for further purchases of petty nature. Unutilized funds (if any) would also be refunded by officials either through cheques and via swipe machines installed at DDO’s office.
Collection of student and trainees fees
Collection of all types of student fees and trainee fees will henceforth be made only through cheque, demand drafts or via swipe machines. This transformation from the cash-based transactions to the digital-payment could become possible only with the cooperation and support of all the staff members and student community of CIFE Parivar. Which has always shown their willingness and commitment to use the technology for nation’s development.
