A seven members UGC Review team visited the ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai during 24^th October - 26^th October 2016 under the chairmanship of Prof. R. K. Kohli, Fellow, NAAS & Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda and Dr. Dev Swarup, Joint Secretary, UGC, New-Delhi. During review meeting held in the forenoon of 24th October, 2016 with the faculty members of the Institute, Dr. Gopal Krishna, Director/Vice-Chancellor of the Institute welcomed the team and briefed them about the Institute activities.

The review team visited various departments, classrooms, conference halls, library, laboratories existing at main academic block including boys & girls hostels.

On 25^th October, 2016, they had visited the training-cum-research vessel, MFV Saraswati. They also visited the departments and laboratories in the Old Campus. This was followed by the interaction meeting with Scientist/faculty, non-teaching staff and students. They also had interaction with the members of governing body of the Institute. After reviewing the various academic, research and extension activities of the Institutes, they provided the feedback to the Director and prepared the report for onward submission.
