Shri S. S. Ahluwalia, Hon'ble Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Parliament Affairs, Govt. of India visited ICAR-CIFE Kolkata Centre on 27^th October 2016. The Hon’ble Minister visited Ornamental Fish Research Centre and campus of CIFE, Kolkata Centre. Dr. B.K. Mahapatra, Principal Scientist & OIC, ICAR-CIFE, Kolkata Centre welcomed the Hon’ble Minister and briefed the activities.

Addressing to the staff member, Hon’ble Minister emphasized the need of skill development and training of fish farmers and dissemination of latest technologies to the farming community. He suggested about developing a model integrated farming system and conducting training programmes with the collaboration of local KVK organizing in North Bengal in particular. He expressed his happiness with the overall progress made by the Centre in all spheres of research, education, training and extension.
