APTDC and CII are organizing Aquabiz 2016 an International Conference & Exhibition on Sustainable Development, Technologies and Business Opportunities in Fisheries

Sh. Prathipati Pulla Rao, Honb’le Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh is inaugurating the ICAR-CIFE stall.
  • On the occasion of the “AQUABIZ India 2016”- an International Conference & Exhibition on Sustainable Aquaculture held at Kakinada during 12th -14th March, 2016, an exhibition stall has been established at the exhibition grounds of district sports stadium, Kakinada for the above three days. In this stall, 13 standees, explaining salient research, academic achievements and some of the major activities of the ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai as well as ICAR-CIFE, Kakinada centre were displayed.

    In addition to this, brackishwater & freshwater live animals like shellfishes, L. vannamei, P. monodon, Mud crabs; Scylla serrata, Scylla tranquebarica, Finfishes; Osteobrama belangeri, Clarias batrachus, Heteropneustes fossilis, respectively were displayed.

    About 1000 no.s of entrepreneurs, progressive farmers, Ph. D scholars, Post graduates, Under graduates and school children have visited the stall and appreciated the ICAR-CIFE activities especially the live animals have attracted the visitors. Majority of the visitors, who are actually in the field of aquaculture got, clarified their doubts about the culture potential of Pengba, Magur, Mud crabs and encountering the current problems in L. vannamei culture.

    Dr. Muralidhar P. Ande, Scientist & Officer In-Charge of the ICAR-CIFE, Kakinada centre has delivered a talk on ‘Recent developments in production strategies’ and Extension Innovations for the blue revolution’.
