प्रशासन
केन्द्रीय मात्स्यिकी शिक्षा संस्थान, भारतीय कृषि अनुसंधान परिषद की एक आनुषांगिक इकाई है । भा. कृ. अनु.प., समिति पंजीकरण अधिनियम (1860 का अधिनियम 21) के तहत पंजीकृत एक समिति है । भा. कृ. अनु. प., भारत सरकार के कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण मंत्रालय के अंतर्गत कार्यरत कृषि अनुसंधान एवं शिक्षा विभाग (कृ.अ.शि.वि.) के अधीन है । केन्द्रीय मात्स्यिकी शिक्षा संस्थान के निदेशक ही संस्थान के मुख्य कार्यपालिका अधिकारी होते हैं । के. मा. शि़. सं. को विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग अधिनियम 1956 के भाग 3 के अंतर्गत समतुल्य विश्वविद्यालय का दर्जा प्राप्त है; अत: निदेशक ही संस्थान के कुलपति भी होते हैं । संस्थान के स्तर पर ''प्रबंधक मण्डल'' नीति निर्माण एवं निर्णय प्रक्रिया की सबसे बडी इकाई है, जिसकी अध्यक्षता निदेशक/कुलपति करते हैं । संस्थान की शैक्षणिक परिषद, अनुसंधान एवं विस्तार संबंधी गतिविधियों के निर्णय एवं संस्तुतियां क्रमश: शैक्षणिक परिषद, अनुसंधान सलाहकार समिति एवं विस्तार परिषद द्वारा लिए जाते हैं । संस्थान के स्नातकोत्तर शिक्षण एवं प्रशिक्षण के संपूर्ण निरीक्षण का दायित्व अधिष्ठाता (शैक्षणिक) का होता है ।
संस्थान के संपूर्ण प्रबंधन, अनुसंधान, स्नातकोत्तर शिक्षा, प्रशिक्षण एवं विस्तार शिक्षा संबंधी विस्तृत नीतिगत मामलों और निर्णयगत प्रक्रियाओं का उत्तरदायित्व निम्नलिखित चार मुख्य निकायों का होता है;

Powers and Functions Of The Institute Research Council
- To review current research programs and monitor the progress
- To suggest changes in the programs as it may deem desirable and appropriate
- To review the position with regard to the provisions and use of research facilities
- To promote inter-disciplinary research with outside agencies and institutions
- To bring about balanced horizontal and vertical coordination of research activities
- To recommend steps on action desirable for all-round progress of research and their application.
