CIFE Centre at Powarkheda was taken over from Madhya Pradesh State Fisheries Department on 8th April 1982. It is conveniently located on National Highway 69 between Hoshangabad and Itarsi towns of M.P. It has 21 ha land area with 6.58 ha water area. The Centre organizes regular training programs on various aspects of freshwater aquaculture and is committed to promoting adoption of modern practices in freshwater aquaculture of carps, catfishes and prawns in Madhya Pradesh and adjoining states for improved production.
